AXA’s commitment to Ireland was further strengthened with the €650 million acquisition of Laya Healthcare, Ireland’s fastest growing health insurance provider, in 2023. As one of Europe’s leading Health Insurers, AXA has huge experience and credibility in healthcare and Brosnan says the driving ambition is to enhance access to healthcare in Ireland for its members. “By bringing two successful businesses together, AXA Ireland and laya are on a mission to transform experiences for our combined 2 million customers, delivered by an experienced team across the island of Ireland. We want to be a force for positive change and we’re excited to bring our customers on that journey”, Brosnan added.

Sustainability At The Heart of Community Engagement

AXA’s success is deeply rooted in its engagement with local communities. Initiatives like the AXA Community Awards, AXA Parks, and the RoadSafe Roadshows highlight the company’s commitment to sustainability and safety. The AXA Community Awards recently provided over €120,000 to local projects, while AXA Parks has supported over 80 projects with more than €1 million, benefiting 300,000 people.

Focused on a Sustainable Future

As an insurer AXA believes it has a significant role to play in the fight against climate change. As an investor, AXA’s main goal is to reduce the environmental impact of its investment portfolio and work towards achieving Net-Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in line with the Paris Agreement.

As well as integrating sustainability in its own business AXA’s strategy actively engages with clients and local communities on climate-related issues focusing on climate transition, inclusive insurance and sustainability, including scientific philanthropy via the AXA Research Fund.

AXA Ireland encourages a strong volunteering culture, with nearly 40% of the team participating in local ‘give back’ projects.

Customer First

One of the foundational values that underpins AXA’s success is its ‘Customer First’ approach. AXA prioritises exceptional customer service, supported by an award-winning customer care team and an active network of over 30 AXA branches. AXA Ireland recently won the Financial Services Dublin ‘Customer Experience Award’ for the second consecutive year, recognising its commitment to innovative and personalised customer service.
