Orders placed by retail banks for software made by the Misys group have weakened significantly prompting the board to announce plans to trim 150 jobs in its banking division. But the cutbacks will not affect the group's Kindle banking software business in Dublin employing 120 people where workloads have not been affected by slowing sales. The job cuts were announced by Misys alongside annual figures detailing an 11 per cent increase to £140 million sterling in the year to May 31st on revenue up 22 per cent at £849 million. Sales and profits moved higher at the key banking and securities division. Misys shares tumbled by nearly one-third to 308p following the results before recovering yesterday to 333p.
