A Dublin-registered cybersecurity firm is being sued by a Swedish company that claims its trademark is being infringed.
Securitas AB, Stockholm, is suing Dksu4securitas Ltd, with a registered office at Ivy Exchange, Parnell Street, Dublin, along with its parent company 4Securitas Italia SRL, which has its principal office in Turin, Italy.
The case was entered into the Commercial Court on consent between the parties by Mr Justice Denis McDonald, who put it back to next February.
Securitas AB is seeking an injunction restraining the defendants from advertising, offering, marketing or selling computer software and computer consultancy services and/or goods and services relating to security and/or cybersecurity under the names and/or signs Dksu4securitas and/or 4Securitas and/or Securitas, or similar names.

It is also seeking damages or an account of profits in respect of the alleged trademark infringement, among other things.
The Swedish company claims it owns the EU-registered trademark SECURITAS, which it says has acquired a substantial reputation in the EU and a high level of distinctive character.
Securitas AB, and companies in its group, have achieved sales revenue between 2016 and 2022 in the EU of some €26 billion, it says.
In its statement of claim, it also says the defendants are offering computer security software and related services on websites, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.
The defendants have also filed an application for an EU trademark for 4Securitas which is being opposed by Securitas AB.
The Swedish firm says it called on the defendants to desist from the activities it complained of but a response received from the Dublin firm provided no basis for a resolution. As a result, Securitas ABk commenced legal proceedings.
