ESAT digifone has signed a £30 million contract with Siemens to expand its GSM network and infrastructure. The company, which operates the second mobile phone licence, said it was part of a series of plans it is implementing to ensure its network capacity is maintained for current and future customers.
It will enable the company to provide enhanced services for both voice and other GSM services.
The contract covers the supply of equipment and services. It also includes equipment which will support rolling out new base stations and a network management system.
