98FM is investing £750,000 (€952,304) in a new advertising campaign for television and cinema. The campaign was devised by Nial McDonnell and Libby Jones from Des O'Meara & Partners and it follows on from the station's "Sound of the City" campaign.

The campaign will have bursts of activity throughout the year as the station tries to counteract disappointing recent figures.

Media Audits, the media consultancy with offices in nine countries including Ireland, has been bought out under a management deal led by Mr Julian Spooner, formerly the marketing and strategy director of UK and director of operations for Guinness Africa.

He will become the chief executive of the Media Audits Network (MAN) and is the most senior marketing figure to have ever made the move into media consultancy.
