Britvic’s Irish division continued to underperform in the first six months of the year as the company continued to implement cost-cutting across its Irish division.
Britvic plc’s results for the six months ended April 15th show overall revenue at the drinks company, whose brands include Robinsons, J20 and Ballygowan, grew by 1.7 per cent to £641.1 million (€799.9 million).
Revenues in Ireland dropped 10 per cent on a constant currency basis and the division “continued to have a negative impact on the group’s overall performance”.
Britvic said the Irish market “shows no sign of recovery in the near term”.
Britvic Ireland currently employs about 600 people in Ireland, having reduced its headcount by 100 last year.
