Anglo Irish Bank has expanded its property lending interests in Britain with the acquisition of a £56 million sterling (€84.96 million) loan portfolio from the German bank Hypo Vereinsbank. The portfolio is described by Anglo Irish as "high- quality investment property loans". It will initially contribute £1 million sterling to Anglo Irish's pre-tax profits.
