The six executive directors of Anglo Irish Bank received average remuneration of £325,000 (412,665) each last year, according to the bank's annual report.

The six directors - chief executive Mr Sean FitzPatrick, finance director Mr Willie McAteer, Mr Peter Killen, Mr Tiernan O'Mahoney, Mr William Barrett and Mr John Rowan - shared a total package of £1.95 million compared to £1.76 million in 1997. This 1998 package is made up of salaries of £1.06 million, performance bonuses of £510,000, benefits of £92,000 and pension contributions of £291,000.
