Insurance broker Aon MacDonagh Boland Group has acquired Mullingar's largest insurance company for an undisclosed sum. Under the deal, Toal Insurances and Toal Life and Investments will become Aon Toal and Aon Toal Consulting.

Mr Terry Toal, the founder of both firms, will continue to manage the companies and will be appointed to the executive board of Aon. It is understood that Mr Toal, his wife and three other directors are the only beneficiaries of the sale.
