An Irish company is bidding to take on the biggest and best computer makers with its own online sales site (http:// www.arrow.ie).
Arrow Computers, a computer manufacturer operating mostly in the business contract market but increasingly developing home and multimedia computers, is hoping to streamline its business through online sales and marketing activity.
Its website offers a range of PCs for home, business and multimedia as well as a build-your-own PC feature which allows customers to select the configuration of hardware and software. The order is then sent directly to Arrow customer service, where a representative will make contact with the buyer. Changes can also be made to the order after it has been sent to the site.
Mr Gabriel Mullen, managing director, of Arrow is confident the Internet business will complement the company's strategy. "We sell the best value and highest specification computers to our business customers and I see no reason why we can't offer the same solutions to individual customers on the Internet."
