THE Ballsbridge home of missing investment broker Mr Tony Taylor will be sold at auction next month when it is expected to make around £400,000.
National Irish Bank has instructed the Gunne agency to sell the five bedroom detached house on Anglesea Road on December 4th. It is understood that the bank, which obtained an order for possession and sale last week, has a mortgage of around £100,000 registered on the property.
It was taken out more than two years ago by Mr Taylor and his wife, but was only registered shortly after his disappearance was reported.
Mr Taylor is said to have paid around £200,000 for the property when he bought it some years ago. He also spent a substantial amount of money upgrading it. Some sources put the figure at around £100,000.
Once National Irish Bank's mortgage has been repaid, it is understood that some of the surplus from the sale can be claimed by Mr Taylor's wife, as the house is registered in both names.
Mr Taylor has not been seen in Ireland since last August. It is estimated that up to £2.5 million of clients' money could be missing through his failed investment companies.
In September, officials from the Department of Enterprise and Employment broke into the house and removed several boxes of files relating to his investments.
The house was in immaculate condition, although some of the rooms had been emptied.
