Share prices ended mixed yesterday as blue-chips recouped most of Friday's losses while technology shares remained under pressure from a combination of economic and earnings concerns.

Traders said mounting evidence that the US economy is slowing at a considerable rate hurt the technology sector, but increased the attractiveness of many "old economy" stocks which are seen as able to produce more reliable earnings.
