Mr Gerry Walsh who has been appointed chief executive of Bord Gais. He said he would focus on developing its pipeline infrastructure, building an electricity generation business and preparing for an ownership change if this was sought by the Government. The company had received no formal notification that the construction of a £200 million (€254 million) gas link from Dublin to Galway, onwards to Limerick and Cork had been sanctioned by the Government, he said.
