Cambridge Mineral Resources has extended the review of its Donegal mineral prospects, which might contain diamonds and other gemstones by a further six months.

"There are a lot of potential targets to look at, far more than we anticipated," said the chairman, Mr David Bramhill. The encouraging preliminary results, he said, had led the group to seek further prospecting licences in the area. The latest results show a drop in the loss before tax from £184,083 sterling (#280,785) in 1997 to £167,618 in 1998. It is debt free, with cash balances of some £300,000. This, the chairman said, was "ample for our present and near-term needs".

Cambridge is also exploring for minerals in Scotland and the Falkland Islands.
