Canada Life shares rose 87% in 2000 Canada Life saw its stock price rise 87 per cent during 2000, chairman, president and chief executive Mr David Nield told the company's annual general meeting yesterday.
Return on shareholders' equity at Canada Life, which has 54,000 policyholders in the Republic, was 13 per cent, up from 1.6 per cent in 1999. Premiums income was up 11 per cent from 1999. Shareholders' net income rose by 20 per cent to 385 million Canadian dollars (€276.6 million), and assets under administration rose to 63.1 billion Canadian dollars, up 14 per cent from 1999.
