The Clerys department store group will launch a credit card with a loyalty points scheme at the end of the month as part of a £10 million refurbishment and marketing campaign urging customers to "Rediscover the value of Clerys". The family-owned department store will begin a £40,000 advertising and public relations campaign on August 4th.
Its MasterCard credit card will gradually replace its existing charge card scheme. Operated by Bank of Ireland, the credit card will offer a 25.5 per cent APR on purchases, or a special six-monthly 13.9 per cent APR for credit card holders who transfer to Clerys.
The card will be part of the Swift Points scheme, offering points worth 5 per cent of purchases, which can be redeemed in 14 other outlets including Atlantic Homecare, Jurys, Texaco, Superquinn, and Joe Walsh Tours.
