Today is the closing date for registration for those interested in buying shares in Telecom Eireann. Anyone still interested in registering should contact the share hotline at 1800 715 111 before 11 p.m. So far 1.1 million people have registered with anything between 15 per cent and 40 per cent expected to buy the shares. By pre-registering you are guaranteed a share allocation if the demand proves to be very strong. In mid-June the formal share offer period will begin. At this stage those who have registered will be sent a mini prospectus which will give a price range indicating the price at which the shares are likely to be issued on the stock market. Details of how many shares will be available to the public will also be outlined at that stage. Those who have registered will receive a personalised share application form which they must use when making a formal application of the shares.
