UrbanRegeneration: The striking €12 million "Belmont" apartment and retail project by Chesterbridge Developments Ltd at the corner of Gardiner Street Middle and Summerhill is nearing completion.
The mixed-use development includes 62 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and two ground level retail units offering a combined 353sq m (3,800sq ft). The image here - taken on the opposite corner across Gardiner Street Middle - gives a good view of the corner feature building, which is U-shaped and terraced, from three floors up to five floors at the corner.
Chesterbridge is a property vehicle for Paul Newman, Mick Whelan and Paul Hanby, and Belmont is the company's third Dublin inner city regeneration project. Earlier developments included the 586-apartment and retail Custom House Square project in the IFSC, Dublin 1 and St Patrick's Court in Clanbrassil Street, Dublin 8.
Belmont now fills the last available open space along Gardiner Street from Mountjoy Square down to the Custom House and completes the transformation of the once seriously run down thoroughfare.
