PROBLEMS IN the motor industry for some retailers will be seen as an opportunity for others.

Agent Lambert Smith Hampton will be hoping that this holds true for the company that decides to lease the former White Bishop motor showrooms at Longmile Road and Walkinstown Avenue in Dublin 12. The former Opel dealership has been in liquidation since the beginning of the year.

The agent is quoting a rent of €335,000 for the purpose-built motor showrooms which extend to 1,044sq m (11,241sq ft). In addition to a showroom, it has ancillary offices, a garage at ground floor level and further offices, storage and staff facilities on the upper floor. The L-shaped showroom has a double height atrium. The entire facility extends to 0.44 of a hectare (1.1 acres) and has extensive surface car-parking facilities as well as circulation areas.

The agent said the showrooms would appeal to motor dealerships but it was also likely to be of interest to other businesses because of the heavy passing traffic on the Longmile Road.
