The former Crown Jewels shop at 12 Castlemarket, located between South William Street and Drury Street, Dublin 2, has been let at a rent of €40,000 per annum. The previous contracted rent was €54,500.
Eoin Feeney of BNP Paribas said that during a brief marketing campaign they received a number of offers at around the quoted rent of €40,000. On inviting best and final offers, they got eight responses and a further five after the closing date, some of them above the quoted rent. In the end the landlord accepted an offer at the quoted rent because of the proposed use and covenant on offer. The three-storey building has an overall floor area of 83sq m (895sq ft) including 31sq m (341sq ft) at street level.
