Euro zone construction production eases in February

Production in the construction sector rose by 0.1 per cent in both the euro zone and the EU28 in February, according to new figures from Eurostat.

This comes after production rose by 1.6 per cent and 1.4 per cent respectively in January.

The highest increases in production were recorded in Poland, Hungary and Spain and the largest decreases in Slovenia, Italy and the UK.

On an annual basis, production in the construction sector rose by 6.7 per cent in the euro zone and by 5.5 per cent for the European Union as a whole.

The biggest increases in production on an annual basis were registered in Slovenia, Hungary, Spain, Poland and Germany, while the largest decreases were in Romania, Portugal and Italy.
