Overseas Development Pat Doherty's Dublin-based property company Harcourt Developments has been chosen as the preferred development partner to carry out a major office and retail scheme in Jersey.

The Jersey Waterfront Enterprise Board selected the Dublin company for the 450,000sq m (4.8 million sq ft) development at the Esplanade Square which will include offices, a training centre for the international finance centre and ancillary retail units. The scheme will connect the existing town centre of St Helier with the new maritime district on the waterfront.

Harcourt's investment and management interests include Park West in west Dublin, Carlisle Bay Hotel in Antigua and the Titanic quarter regeneration scheme which is being carried out in conjunction with the Belfast Harbour Commissioners. The site will include another international business centre and a project to commemorate the Titanic ocean liner.
