TechnologyParks:A marketing campaign has been launched for a regional science, research and technology park on the outskirts of Clonmel, Co Tipperary.
The 110-hectare Ballingarrane Campus will also include a 20-hectare IDA business park.
South Tipperary County Council is expected to have all the infrastructural services on site by the end of the month.
Initial expressions of interest are being invited from companies who want to purchase sites for appropriate ventures which comply with the overall brief for the campus.
The local area plan provides for high quality business, science, technology, education and research projects as well as a hotel. County manager Ned O'Connor says a "synergistic development of the concept will now move forward in partnership with Tipperary Institute and the IDA".
He said he was confident that they would attract interest from the pharma/medical sectors, financial and technology services, innovative manufacturing, software and the hotel services.
"We have proven records of recent major achievements in these areas and we believe that the Ballingarrane concept will allow the continued strong development of our economy."
