Walk-in on Merrion Square
Knight Frank is seeking a rent of €269 per square metre (€25 per sq ft) for a four-storey-over-basement Georgian house at 66 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.
The 403sq m (4,337sq ft) building is in “walk-in” condition, according to the agents, and has two suites of offices on each of the second and third floors and an additional two suites over the ground, first and basement levels. There are 11 car parking spaces at the rear.
Changes on Exchequer Street
A HIGH-END Italian retailer specialising in children’s clothes has opened its first Irish store in the former Zoo hairdressing salon on Dublin’s Exchequer Street.
Petit is paying a rent of €60,000 per annum for the 72.4sq m (780sq ft) shop and a basement which also has part-retail use. The new tenant has been given a six-month rent-free period. Nigel Kingston of DNG Commercial handled the letting. Close by, the same agency is in discussions with several traders interested in leasing the former Exchequer News shop (above) at the quoting rent of €60,000 per annum. It has the same floor area as the new Petit store.
On the opposite side of the street, the White House, specialising in gifts and fashion, is paying a rent of €42,500 for No 14 Exchequer Street opposite Fallon Byrne. The ground floor area extends to just over 50sq m while the basement has 62sq m. The tenant got a three-month rent-free period. Karl Byrne of DNG acted for the landlord.
Valuer transfers agencies
One of the best known property valuers in Dublin, Olivia Farrell, is joining commercial agents Murphy Mulhall as director of valuations. She previously held the same post at CB Richard Ellis where she worked for 12 years.
