Family store for €1.2m

ONE OF THE oldest drapery stores in Ireland, Gavins of Ballina, Co Mayo, is to be sold after being in the ownership of the same family for the past 82 years.

Estate agent Sherry FitzGerald Feeney West is seeking offers of around €1.2 million for the well located business premises at Tone Street. The end-of-terrace building has three floors extending to 669sq m (7,201sq ft) including a ground-floor open-plan area of 293sq m (3,159sq ft). The first and second floors are used as offices, store rooms and canteen.

Shop for rent in Portlaoise

LISNEY IS seeking rent of about €70,000 for a shop with an unusual layout at Lyster Square in Portlaoise. It has two levels of shopping, a curved dome design and display windows at ground and first level. The shop has a total floor area of 364sq m (3,918sq ft) and is located between AIB and Bank of Ireland.

Sutton flats get go-ahead

BUSINESSMAN NIALL Molloy has been granted planning permission by An Bord Pleanála to demolish three houses and replace them with 37 apartments in a four-storey block at 131 Dublin Road, Sutton, Dublin 13.

Fingal County Council had earlier granted permission for 35 apartments but an inspector with the board, Pauline Fitzpatrick, had recommended that the permission be refused on the grounds that such a building would be visually obtrusive and would seriously injure the amenities of property in the vicinity.

New restaurant in Ranelagh

AN ESTABLISHED restaurant operator is to open a new business at 92 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6.

The former Burritos 'n' Blues premises has a ground-floor retail area of 53sq m (571sq ft) and a further 14sq m (151sq ft) at first-floor level. The new tenant will be paying a rent of €37,000 for the building, which was let by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
