A home at Dublin's Hub

ANOTHER CITY centre commercial site being offered for sale next month forms part of Dublin’s Digital Hub at Thomas Street/Rainsford Street. The 1.05-acre site includes an industrial warehouse extending to 2,500sq m (26,909sq ft) with ancillary office accommodation within the building.

The promoters say that because of its location within the Digital Hub and its proximity to high-capacity fibre optic cabling, it would suit a facility that would help to create a vibrant digital quarter. The Digital Hub Development Agency is not issuing a guide price.

€2m sought on Harcourt St

A REDEVELOPMENT opportunity will arise shortly when commercial property agent Murphy Mulhall offers the Harcourt Printing Office & Supplies premises, right, and adjacent sites along South Richmond Street in Dublin 2 for sale. A price of €2 million is being sought for the property, part of an executor sale. Harcourt is relocating its business, which has been operating from the site for over 30 years. The 493sq m (4725sq ft) premises along with an adjoining car park and a small parcel of land nearby extend to 0.22 of an acre. Selling agent James Mulhall says that given the high-profile nature of the building and its close proximity to a large corporate occupier it should appeal to retailers, restaurants and own-door office occupiers. The sites also have development potential for a small, mixed-use, residential-over-retail scheme. Sean Reilly’s Alcove Properties and Dublin City Council have formed a joint venture company to redevelop the Tom Kelly flats complex at the rear of the Harcourt premises. The plan provides for 19,973sq m (214,987sq ft) of offices, 260 apartments and a six-screen cinema complex.

Cleaning up in Firhouse

PROFESSIONAL Dry Cleaners has taken an assignment of a lease on an 86sq m (926sq ft) retail unit at OldCourt neighbourhood centre at Firhouse, Dublin 24. The new tenant will pay a rent in the region of €30,000 per annum under the lease which has 16 years to run. Agent Brown Corrigan said there was strong interest in the unit primarily because of its proximity to the M50. Other occupiers in OldCourt include Spar, Paddy Power and Scholars bar.
