Green light for centre extension
Further expansion at the Blanchardstown centre in Dublin 15 is on the cards following a decision by Fingal County Council to grant permission for an extension to the shopping centre.
The centre's owner, Green Property, has got the green light for an eight-storey mixed-use building of 28,447sq m (306,200sq ft). It will be between the centre's Red Mall and the adjoining West End Retail Park.
The new building will include five retail units at ground floor level and three levels of car-parking providing 300 spaces. Five storeys of offices over 20,035sq m (215,654sq ft) will also be provided. Plans for a separate extension at the centre - a new yellow mall to include 17 retail units, a foodcourt and seven restaurants - are also being considered by the council. The most recent letting at the centre was for a rent of €4,520 per sq m (€420 per sq ft).
