Bank of Scotland has secured a High Court order for the winding up of Manor Park Homebuilders Ltd over its failure to repay the bank some €135 million.
The bank petitioned the High Court yesterday to have the company wound up and a liquidator appointed after the firm, with registered offices at Simmonscourt Road, Dublin, failed to satisfy demands for repayment of the €135 million advanced in late 2007.
Ms Justice Mary Laffoy made orders winding up the company and appointed Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton as official liquidator.
The judge also ordered the company’s directors – Patrick Joseph Moran, John Moran, Adrienne Moran, Cara Ryan (nee Moran) and Jean Moran – to file a statement of means within 21 days and adjourned the matter to the High Court examiners list in June.
Established in 1979, Manor Park initially concentrated its activities in the Dublin area but later expanded into Meath and Louth. In 2004, the firm bought the estate in Kinsealy, Co Dublin, of former taoiseach Charles Haughey, for €45 million.
