TOPSHOP HAS opened a new flagship store at Blanchardstown Town Centre in west Dublin.
The company has extended into the former Principles unit to give it a total area of 1,000sq m (10,764sq ft), making it the largest of its eight stand-alone outlets in Ireland. Topshop is understood to be paying a rent of €1 million for the enlarged premises. Launched in London in 1964, the Arcadia Group (owner of Topshop) has 400 stores in 30 countries worldwide. Last year it opened a flagship store in New York.
Meanwhile, the Principles label is again available in the Blanchardstown centre following the acquisition of fashion group Mosaic by Debenhams. The department store has set aside a part of its space for the Principles range.
Elsewhere in the centre, Republic, the UK men’s and women’s branded fashion retailer, is fitting out its first Irish store. It is understood to have agreed a rent of over €500,000 for the 450sq m (4,844sq ft) outlet which will be on two levels opposite HM.
Also moving in shortly will be the fast food chain Captain Americas which will have a high profile external location in Retail Park 2 beside Starbucks and opposite the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The Irish-owned business, which will trade out of a 500sq m (5,382sq ft) unit, also has restaurants in Grafton Street, Tallaght and Cork.
Also new to Blanchardstown is Auntie Anne’s, a large pretzel chain with over 1,000 outlets. It will be paying a rent of €60,000 for a unit of 16sq m (172sq ft). Next door, 3 (the high speed internet server) has opened a new outlet – its 23rd in Ireland. The company will be paying a rent of €150,000 for a 85sq m (915sq ft) unit.
Joint agents HWBC and Jones Lang LaSalle are due to announce a series of other high profile tenants for the Blanchardstown centre over the coming months.
