A DEVELOPMENT site of 11.8 acres almost midway between Swords and Dublin Airport is to be offered for sale by private treaty at €3.5 million.
James Meagher of agents HT Meagher O’Reilly is handling the sale for Simon Davidson of HWBC Allsop who were appointed fixed-charge receivers.
The site at Fosterstown is located beside the Boroimhe housing development completed by Mick and Tom Bailey and is directly opposite the Airside Retail Park. It is about two kilometres from the airport.
The land is zoned for residential use in the Fingal development plan 2011-2017, while other uses permitted in principle include a supermarket and education services.
The original plan for Metro North to have a stop at Fosterstown would have opened the way for a high-density development, but with that transport link now postponed indefinitely, Mr Meagher says the obvious option is a medium-density residential scheme with the possibility of including a retail element to it.
The selling agent is to market the 11.8 acres by private treaty and may consider sub-dividing the land.
