Design has gone to the dogs, with furniture, clothing and accessories for our best friends moving from niche to mass market.
Mutt Ugly ( muttugly.com) is a place for discerning dogs to get made-over. In expansion mode with now three premises across Dublin, they also sell a selection of accessories including fashionable lead and collar sets and beds.
Interior shops are getting in on the act. A medium size, suited to a Springer Spaniel and other similar-sized breeds, measures 80 cm by 60 cm and costs €199. A big dog basket for Labradors and other large dogs costs €269 and measures one metre by 70 cm.
