IN THE first letting of a cinema so far this year, UCI Cinemas is believed to have agreed a rent in the region of €250,000 per annum for the lease of The Ormonde Cinema in Stillorgan, Co Dublin. The 1,521sq m (16,372sq ft) premises are owned by O’Gorman Cinemas which has been in in the business since 1955. The seven-screen multiplex is currently undergoing major refurbishment and when it reopens early in July will have full digital facilities.
UCI Cinemas operate cinemas in Blanchardstown, Coolock and Whitewater shopping centre in Newbridge, together with Storm Cinemas which are in Cavan, Portlaoise, Limerick, Naas and Waterford. Stephen McCarthy of Savills advised OGorman Cinemas on the Stillorgan letting.
