Compaq has announced it is to use the Intel Pentiu m III processor which offers high-speed processing power of up to 500 MHz. It will be available in the Deskpro, ProLiant, Prosignia, Armada, Professional Workstations AP line and Presario product lines.

In a separate development Compaq and Sendit, a supplier of mobile Internet products, have entered into a marketing agreement to promote their mobile Internet solutions for mobile operators. Their bundled package, called Smart Mobility Node, combines Compaq ProLiant servers with Sendit's Internet Cellular Smart Access (ICSA), which allows mobile subscribers to receive, forward and send online information or email, and gain access to Internet-based services to and from mobile phones.
