The row between Fruit of the Loom and three of its top executives over their threatened redundancy remained undetermined yesterday, despite four hours of talks in the Four Courts.
Mr Ercus Stewart, SC, counsel for the company, and Mr Tom Mallon, counsel for directors Messrs Willie and John McCarter and Mr Seamus McEleney, told Ms Justice Mary Laffoy that the matter could be put in for mention in the High Court at 11:30 am tomorrow. Mr Mallon told the court certain terms had been agreed between the parties but, in the event of any breakdown in agreement, a date could be set for the hearing of his clients motion.
The directors claim they have been given notice of redundancy and are seeking an injunction restraining the company from dismissing them.
