Credit unions will be allowed to provide additional services to their customers, including ATM cards, insurance services, investment advice and the provision of personal retirement savings accounts, from today. It follows a decision by the Minister for Science, Technology and Commerce, Mr Noel Treacy, to make an order starting certain provisions of the Credit Union Act, 1997.
