Computer manufacturing and services company Dell has said it has no plans to move to lower cost locations in central Europe.
Mr Nicky Hartery, vice president of Dell's manufacturing facility at Raheen in Limerick, said he had looked at central European countries 18 months ago but the countries did not present enough advantages for the company to move.
Dell employs 4,500 in the Republic, 3,200 people at Raheen and the remainder at a sales facility in Bray, Co Wicklow.
Mr Hartery said the Limerick facility was highly efficient, but added that the business environment was very tough, and being competitive was a challenge.
