The overall winner of the Glen Dimplex Design Awards, presented last night in Dublin by the President, Ms McAleese, was Ms Gillian Murphy, of Gillian Murphy Design.

She was awarded the prize for her work on the packaging for Boru Vodka. The judges praised the "subtle combination of simplicity and sophistication in the bottle and packaging design". Mr Neil O'Keeffe, who studied at DIT, Mountjoy Square, Dublin, was presented with the Graduate Designer of the Year Award.
