The overall number of jobs advertised online fell in the last quarter of 2011, but new opportunities continued to open up in technology-related industries, according to new research.

The latest Jobs Index published by IrishJobs.ie, which monitors job advertisements across recruitment websites, shows vacancies were down 21 per cent in the fourth quarter, compared to the peak in the second quarter of the year.
