The Eircell website has launched a fantasy Formula 1 game, ONTRACK, (http://www.eircell.ie/ff1) where players are given a notional £40 million (€50.8 million) to acquire their winning team.
The Webfactory-designed game allows signed-up users to select their team from a series of dropdown menus.
The competition will start with the first race of the F1 season in Australia on March 7th and ends with the last race on October 31st in Japan. After each Grand Prix drivers, chassis and engines are awarded points for the positions in which they qualify and finish. Extra points are won for laps completed, while penalty points are deducted for bad driving or rule infringements. The winner of each race will receive an Eircell goodie bag, while the overall champion will receive a trip to a European Grand Prix in 2000.
