Connemara Mining has said its latest drill results at its Limerick zinc discovery have extended the size of the known mineralisation.
The AIM-listed company said drilling revealed the Stonepark North zinc discovery was extended by another high grade result 120 metres to the northwest
"Interesting results have been found 1km away from Stonepark offering the possibility of a much bigger mineralised system," chairman John Teeling said.
"Six kilometres to the southwest, drilling has discovered low grade mineralisation but more importantly has identified a previously unknown fault."
To date, drilling at the Limerick discovery has defined a zone of zinc-lead mineralisation at 200 to 250 metres depth, around 100-150 metres wide and with a strike length of at least 800 metres.
Six rigs are currently working on the site. The programme is a joint venture between Connemara, which has a 25 per cent stake, and Teck Ireland, which holds the remaining 75 per cent.
"The discoveries are world class with huge potential but a lot more work needs to be done," Mr Teeling said.
