Gas explorer Cove Energy has welcomed an announcement that the estimated gas resources in its Mozambique prospect is more than first thought.
Anadarko, which operates the Rovuma Offshore Area 1, upped the estimated recoverable gas resources of the area by 2 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) to 17 to 30 plus Tcf. Cove has an 8.5 per cent stake in the Rovuma Offshore Area 1. Cove is up for sale with Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production and Royal Dutch Shell both bidding to take control of it.
