A member of the National Treasury Management Agency’s banking team at the Department of Finance, Danny Buckley, has left to join Bank of Ireland.

Mr Buckley is the third member of the team, which comprised 10 members when it was transferred to the department last year, to leave over the past 10 months.

He will join Bank of Ireland’s group finance department on August 20th. He had liaised with State-owned Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, formerly known as Anglo Irish Bank, as part of his work at the department.

His departure follows that of Enda Johnson who left to join State-controlled Allied Irish Banks in May. Mr Johnson has since been appointed to the role of head of corporate affairs and strategy on the bank’s new management team.

The banking team has since been bolstered by the appointment of graduates and new recruits as well as civil servants moved on secondment from other parts of the public sector.
