State-controlled Permanent TSB has appointed Paul Redmond as head of internal audit. He will join from Goodbody Stockbrokers where he held the same role.
His appointment was approved by the Central Bank, the bank said. Prior to joining Goodbody, Mr Redmond held internal audit roles at Allied Irish Banks, Ulster Bank and its owner Royal Bank of Scotland, and at NatWest. Permanent TSB chief executive Jeremy Masding is building a new executive management team at the bank as he develops the Government-approved plan to carve a good bank out of the lender by moving €12.5 billion of loans to an internal asset management unit. The bank advertised for six new positions for its executive committee earlier this month after filling four roles. Three of those appointees held similar positions at Irish Life and Permanent. An external candidate, Emil Ivanov, a former executive at Barclays Bank in the UK, was appointed strategy and planning director on the executive team.
