The huge rise in the popularity of the Internet is expected to see 30,000 people attending the first Irish Internet Show this weekend. More than 80 exhibitors will take part in the event which runs from 1 p.m. today until Sunday. With users in Ireland numbering 150,000 and the figure projected to reach 250,000 by the year 2000, the Internet's commercial potential has been established. A business section at the show will specifically focus on this area, including exhibits from industry giants such as IBM, Dell and Compaq, as well as local Irish companies serving niche markets.
