FIT (Fasttrack Into Technology), an industry-led non-profit initiative aimed at training unemployed people to enter industry as IT professionals, held a seminar this week where human resource professionals were introduced to a number of newly qualified FIT graduates.
About 1,400 unemployed people have participated in high level IT training since the introduction of FIT in 1999. More than 500 people have completed training, with 85 per cent of them now employed within industry.
