FORMER QUINN Insurance chief executive Colin Morgan will head up Setanta Sports’ Irish business.
Setanta staff were informed of the appointment yesterday and Mr Morgan will take up his role on October 11th.
Mr Morgan left Quinn Insurance in May, having joined the business in 2003. The Seán Quinn-owned insurer was placed into administration in late March by the Financial Regulator because of concerns over its solvency.
Mr Morgan told The Irish Times yesterday that he was “very excited” about the move. “It’s a good company with a great brand and represents the future of Irish sports broadcasting,” he added.
Setanta said: “Colin’s experience in building and managing a market leading business with a subscriber base of several hundred thousand will be invaluable in continuing to develop the Setanta business in Ireland.”
