You love golf but aspects of the game can be extremely annoying - like the way you might not be able to get your motorised golf buggy right up to the ball so you have to get out and walk.
Also, most clubs seem to be run by nature freaks - even in the year 2001 they still haven't erected retractable roofs over their fairways. Nor is there any attempt at air-conditioning. This leaves golfers completely at the mercy of the elements.
Worst of all, there are virtually no golf clubs in Dublin city centre and the Corporation refuses to develop St Stephen's Green, even as a par three!
This sort of backward thinking means decent people must waste hours travelling to and from inconvenient golf courses.
Well dry those tears, my friend, for the GolfD2 is here to save us. You simply stand and hit your ball at a gigantic screen projecting an image of a golf course. High-tech sensors trace very precisely the trajectory of your ball and propel its image to the correct spot on the course.
It sounds a bit lame, but it actually works - and you can play more than 30 of the world's top courses, such as Valderrama, St Andrew's and Pebble Beach.
They'll lend you clubs and can even give you a lesson with a PGA pro.
GolfD2 is £10 (€12.70) an hour for four people and can be seen on Cow's Lane, Temple Bar, Dublin. Telephone: (01) 672-6181
