The long-running High Court proceedings involving the founder and former managing director of Master Meat Packers group, Mr Paschal Phelan, and Mr Larry Goodman have been adjourned at the High Court until September 10th. The proceedings, before Mr Justice Murphy, opened on May 15th. Evidence in the case has not yet begun after 35 days of hearings and could last for several more months. Most of the hearing to date has been taken up with opening submissions by counsel for the sides.
Mr Phelan is suing Mr Goodman for some £30 million in compensation, interest and damages. Mr Goodman has filed counter actions against Mr Phelan alleging misappropriation of funds, a claim Mr Phelan denies.
