Blogspot:Silicon Valley investor and start-up guru Guy Kawasaki doesn't pull any punches. After all, he's modestly entitled his blog How to Change the World and one of his most recent post titles asks"Is Your Client a Certified Orifice?". It might not be for the faint-hearted but his blog is still worth the effort.
Kawasaki was one of the earliest employees at Apple and was responsible for marketing the first Apple Macintosh computer. These days, as well as being an investor, he also writes extensively about technology start-ups, for Fast Company, on his blog but most notably as author of the Silicon Valley bible The Art of the Start.
His blog is now essential reading for entrepreneurs. In fact, everyone in the technology industry should be made read his 10/20/30 rule of PowerPoint usage: "A PowerPoint presentation should have 10 slides, last no more than 20 minutes, and contain no font smaller than 30 points."
Kawasaki is also not afraid to use his platform to give a voice to issues he feels should be heard. Currently the most popular post on his blog is from a friend of his, Ellen Petry Leanse, entitled We Got Out of Kenya, But What About the People Who Live There? It describes the fraught experiences of Leanse and her son following the recent Kenyan elections and the fate of the people they met there.
Good to see that even after making his millions, he's willing to help others out as well.
