A Hotel/Disco based in Carrick-On-Shannon, Co Leitrim, has made a settlement of £328,371 (€416,945) arising from the Revenue's inquiries into National Irish Bank.
The settlement, by Ridgedeen Ltd of Cartown, Carrick-On-Shannon, comprises £132,653 in under-declared income tax and VAT and £195,718 in interest and penalties. It was one of 11 settlements arising from NIB-related Revenue inquiries published in the quarterly list of tax defaulters yesterday. The total involved in the 11 settlements was £846,355.
The latest issue of Iris Oifigiuil lists 75 settlements for more than £10,000 each made between January 1st, 2001 and March 31st, 2001. The value of the settlements was £4,589,294.76.
The other settlements arising from NIB inquiries are: Mr James Harvey, Main Street, Dunkineely, Co Donegal (£121,291.35); Mr Denzil Patrick Dennistoun, 158 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9 (£110,000); Mr Charles Rooney, 2 Ashdale Gardens, Terenure, Dublin 6W (£107,609); Mr Noel Hayden, Bornacoola, Carrick-OnShannon, Co Leitrim (£42,016); Mr Paul O'Gara, Cartown, Carrick-On-Shannon, Co Leitrim (£32,087); Mr Joseph McBride, Roshine Lodge, Burtonport, Co Donegal (£27,500); Ms Agnes Massey, 2 Gilford Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4 (£26,332.02); Mr Peter Connolly, 42 Vernon Heath, Clontarf, Dublin 3 (£22,108.63); Mr Daniel Boland, Ballyboy, Kilcormac, Co Offaly (£15,040); and Mr Martin Woulfe, Claren, Ower, Co Galway (£14,000).
The largest settlement on the list was by Ms Chloe Ann Alexander, a farmer from Milford Demesne, Milford in Carlow, who made a settlement of £435,419. This was made up of £287,504 in undeclared income tax and capital gains tax and £147,915 in interest and penalties.
Ridgedeen Ltd made the second highest settlement.
